The baseplate is made of 1/4" steel plate. Anchors are made of the U-Bolts that attach the axles to the leaf springs on big trucks. These are the hardest U-bolts I have ever seen. They are 3/4" diameter and the nuts are 1" thick. Attached to the U-Bolts are 10 pieces of 5/8" rebar, 4 feet long .Gussets are placed on top of the plate to add support to the two, 4" square structural steel tubes that will support the elevated hinge at 20 feet above ground.
